About Our Facilitators

Veteran Director, Kimberly Smith of Creative Action, will facilitate this day long workshop. He has a Fine Arts degree in acting from York University and is a member of ACTRA and creator of Movie Games. See www.moviegames.ca He has decades of experience in theatre and film. Participants will practice collaboration and the invisible art of cinema by working in physically active teams producing and screening short improvised videos in a variety of styles. Kimberly will co-facilitate all workshops.

Bruce Dienes, Ph.D., coordinator for the Engaging Men and Boys in Ending Violence against Women and Girls project, will lead interactive exercises for leaders and coaches to demonstrate strategies. Bruce has a background in Community Psychology and has worked with groups of men for over 30 years. He has taught courses on Perspectives on Masculinity at the University of Illinois and at Mount Saint Vincent University. Bruce will co-facilitate all workshops except Digby.

Evan Nemeth is the Digby County Outreach Worker for the Tri-County Women’s Centre and SHYFT Youth Services. Evan has an educational background in Music and Psychology, and enjoys being creative. Evan will co-facilitate the Yarmouth and Digby workshops.
